Iron is an essential mineral that helps with the transportation of oxygen throughout the body. Red blood cells get their color for the substance called hemoglobin, and iron is an important component of that substance. Therefore, iron is important for healthy blood cells that carry oxygen from your lungs and supply it to the rest of your body. Because of its function in oxygen transport it also supports normal cognitive functions.

The advantages of a liposomal iron
The advantages of liposomal iron are two fold, one being that the iron is much better absorbed in the cells. And another big advantage is that being enclosed in the fatty liposome balls means that the iron doesn’t influence the stomach or intestinal tract. This prevents the common side effects of iron supplementation such as nausea and constipation.
Vitamin C has been added to this formula to improve the iron absorption.Vitamin B 12 has been added as it is also important for the formation of red blood cells. This product has an active vitamin B 12 in it, methylcobalamin.

What are liposomes?
The problem
Absorption and bio-absorption of supplements is a problem that manufacturers and researchers in this field struggle with.
Excipients, binders, fillers and fluxes can contribute to poor disintegration of tablets and capsules, which means poor absorption at best. The next problem is ensuring that the active ingredients get into the blood stream and reach the cells.

The active ingredients are enveloped in a bubble of phospholipids, fat molecules which form the bulk of the cell wall. The phospholipids of the liposome are then used in the body, as they are identical to the phospholipids of the cell membrane.
